Nominations are now being accepted for individual staff members and/or teams of staff for the 2023 Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards!

The Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards have been a Berkeley tradition since 1988, acknowledging the great distinction and excellence achieved by Berkeley staff through their daily contributions to the campus and beyond. The COSA awards recognize staff who have demonstrated exceptional initiative in at least two of the following areas:

The Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee is painfully aware of what a challenging and stressful time this is for campus staff. Our thoughts are with you all as our daily lives continue to be substantially impacted by a global pandemic, an economic crisis, a major campus budget deficit, continuing racial injustice, devastating fires, political turmoil and for some the daily challenges of sheltered living and working virtually.

The deadline to submit applications for the 2020 CSAC membership cohort has been exteded to Friday, April 3.

June 13-17, 2016

The annual Staff Appreciation Week will take place June 13-17, 2016 and will include five days of events and activities to recognize and celebrate our staff contributions. Learn more about this year's activities at http://hr.berkeley.edu/compensation-benefits/perks/staff-appreciation-week. 

On May 16, 2016, 20 individual UC Berkeley staff members and members of 9 staff teams will receive the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Award (COSA). Chancellor Nicholas B. Dirks will be present to congratulate each award recipient, along with Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Jeannine Raymond, and other senior leaders.

Last month Chancellor Dirks announced the launch of a strategic planning and analysis process aimed at enabling Berkeley to sustain its commitment to access and excellence, while becoming more financially resilient and self-reliant. The Berkeley Staff Assembly (BSA) and the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee (CSAC) have joined together to sponsor a Leadership Roundtable panel discussion to engage and inform Berkeley staff about the process underway.

On May 7, 2015, 15 individual UC Berkeley staff members and members of 3 staff teams will receive the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Award (COSA). Chancellor Nicholas B. Dirks will be present to congratulate each award recipient, along with Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Claude M. Steele, Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance John Wilton, and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Jeannine Raymond.
